The purpose of Women in Business emphasizes career focus, opportunities through networking, and community service. Opportunities and business growth through networking are always our number one focus. This group was founded in July of 2005 when it was realized that over 65% of the workforce in Lee County were women and the Chamber recognized the need of women gathering together to share business ideas and inspire one another. Regular meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month at various Chamber member locations and include a keynote speaker as well as extensive networking opportunities. Approximately 150 to 200 women and men are in attendance at the monthly meetings featuring a theme to enhance your business and networking skills. Women in Business meetings are enlightening and full of surprises! Although the group is called "Women in Business", many men attend these meetings and are encouraged to get involved.

mentor program

Beginning in 2008, the WIB Mentoring Program will guide many women in the development of mentor - protege relationships. Participants will cite the value of developing a mutually beneficial relationship with a member of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce.
